On June 7, 2024 at 1658 hrs. Companies 1 and 2 were dispatched to Rt 9 SB, in the area of Exit 33 (Christian Lane) for a motor vehicle crash, vehicle off the roadway. Car 90 arrived on scene on Christian Lane of a single vehicle, off the roadway into the concrete portion of the bridge. Upon investigation extrication was required. Company 3 was added to the assignment and because of the location of the vehicle and terrain, Company 4 was added for manpower. With assistance of an AAA flat bed, the vehicle was stabilized. Access was gained to the driver of the vehicle. The driver was removed from the vehicle by fire department personnel and transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash by Hunters Ambulance. Units remained on scene until the vehicle was removed by the wrecker. All units cleared. Christian Lane was closed between the Rt 9 South offramp and Rt 9 North on Ramp. The crash is being investigated by Connecticut State Police
