On September 21, 2024 at 16:44 hrs. the Town of Berlin 4 Fire Department were dispatched to 369 New Britian Rd for reported smoke coming from the second floor. Car 21 (Incident Commander) arrived on scene of a commercial structure, found smoke coming the second-floor rear business. Crews made entry to locate the fire. Fire was located in a second-floor business of the structure. Crews worked to extinguish the fire which had burnt through the roof and was burning the rubber roofing material. The fire was extinguished and overhauls. The fire was contained to a single business. The remained of the businesses were damaged by water and smoke. The two animals that were in the Vet were removed and are safe. The fire is currently under investigation by the Town of Berlin Fire Marshals Office. There is no cause of the fire at this time. No injuries were reported.
Mutual Aid was requested to the scene due to the nature of the building and multiple business. Taskforce 51 (Cromwell, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield) along with the City of New Britain provided support.
