On April 1, 2022 at 0357 hrs, the Town of Berlin Fire Departments were dispatched to East Berlin United Methodist Church 139 Main St, East Berlin for a reported Structure Fire, fire on the outside of the church. A large volume of fire was located on the front corner of the building and attic areas of the church. Taskforce 51 and Westfield Fire Department (Middletown) were requested to the scene for additional manpower and fire apparatus. Taskforce 54 was requested to cover the Town of Berlin for any other incidents that may have occurred. The Fire was brought under control and extinguished. There is minimal fire damage to the church area but significant water damage. No injuries were reported. Berlin Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
